The 1965 AMCCavalier concept car was equipped with a trunk lid with a double-acting scissor hinge, allowing the panel to open like a normal trunk lid, or even rise horizontally to the height of the car's roofline, for greater flexibility when towing. Useful for large and bulky items. Both the hood and trunk lid are made from the same stamping and are interchangeable.
